Salman Khan Breaks Silence on Arijit Singh Controversy, Calls It a ‘Misunderstanding’

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has finally addressed his long-speculated fallout with renowned singer Arijit Singh. While hosting the latest episode of reality show Bigg Boss 19, Salman spoke candidly about the issue that had dominated headlines for years.

In a conversation with comedian Ravi Gupta during the Weekend Ka Vaar segment, Salman said, “Arijit and I are very good friends. It was just a misunderstanding, and it happened from my side.” This is the first time the actor has publicly accepted responsibility, putting an end to years of speculation.

Salman further acknowledged Arijit’s contribution to his films. “He has sung for me in Tiger and is singing in Galwan as well,” he added.

Arijit Singh lent his voice to the hit tracks “Ruaa” and “Leke Prabhu Ka Naam” in Tiger 3 (2023), which became chartbusters and helped the film achieve box-office success.

How the Rift Began
The dispute reportedly started in 2014 during an award show when Salman jokingly asked Arijit, “So, did you fall asleep?” Arijit replied, “You guys put me to sleep,” which allegedly upset the actor. Following the incident, rumours of tension surfaced. Arijit later apologised publicly via a social media post. In 2023, the singer was seen visiting Salman’s residence, sparking reconciliation buzz.

Salman Targets AR Murugadoss
During the same episode, Salman also addressed filmmaker AR Murugadoss, who had recently blamed him for the failure of the film Sikandar, claiming Salman arrived on set at 9 PM. Responding in his trademark humorous tone, Salman quipped, “Yes, I used to reach at 9 PM—and that was the real mistake!”

With Salman’s open statement, one of Bollywood’s most talked-about feuds appears to have finally found closure.
